Our social media is expertly curated and maintained by our Digital Project Officer, Lucy McConnell.
Lucy is a dress historian and PhD candidate in the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Huddersfield, where she is undertaking research for her thesis which examines how the distinctive manufacturing and business culture of the West Riding of Yorkshire shaped the Utility Clothing Scheme during WWII.
Her research interests are varied - ranging from the eighteenth century to the present day - and through these she has has enjoyed a diverse career in dress and textile cultures, having worked on a number of projects from exhibitions, displays, and archiving, to written publications, conference presentations, guest lecturing, and workshop facilitation.
Over the last year, in addition to her role here at CCH, she has been involved in several costume-related projects, including an exciting stint working as a historical costume advisor and stylist on several independent filming projects.
